Learn the fundamentals of sewing in a relaxed, practical four-week series designed for beginners and returning students. This class focuses on building real sewing skills while creating a finished project from start to finish, with plenty of hands-on guidance along the way.

This series is structured but flexible. You’ll work at your own pace in a small group setting, with support tailored to your experience level.

Project options

Choose one of the following beginner-friendly projects, or submit a project for approval ahead of time:

• PJ pants
• Tote bag
• Apron
• An approved personal project

Each option focuses on the same core sewing skills, while allowing flexibility based on your goals and interests.

What you’ll learn

• How to thread and confidently operate a sewing machine
• Reading and working with simple pattern pieces
• Pinning, cutting, and pressing techniques
• Sewing seams, construction, and finishing
• Adding details such as pockets, topstitching, and clean hems

You’ll complete your project by the end of the series.

Fabric + pricing

All fabric and supplies are included in the standard class fee.

If you’d like to bring your own fabric, that’s absolutely fine. When all materials are provided by you, the class fee is $200.

If we use studio materials, the standard $225 fee applies.

Instruction, sewing machines, tools, and studio equipment are always included.

Who this is for

Adults with little to no sewing experience, anyone returning to sewing to build confidence and skills, and experienced sewists who are simply looking for a fun, creative night out.

This is a four-week series. Choose the time that works for you:

• Thursdays 6:00–8:00
March 12, 19, 26, April 2

Class size

Maximum 3 adults per session to ensure plenty of individual support.
