Description
Students spend the afternoon in the Maker Studio combining art and sewing to create a wearable project from start to finish. They begin by painting their own fabric using textile paints and simple tools, choosing colors, patterns, and textures that reflect their style.
Once the fabric is dry, it becomes part of a classic bucket hat. Students learn how flat fabric transforms into a finished piece while practicing sewing curves and following guided construction steps. The project is designed to be approachable, confidence building, and fun.
During drying time, each student designs a mini fashion label that is sewn into the inside of their hat so they leave with something completely their own.
